Hantavirus symptoms
Dernière mise à jour : 12/05/2026
Symptoms depend on the virus, the clinical form and the individual situation. Reported early symptoms may include fever, fatigue, muscle aches, headache, dizziness, chills, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea or abdominal pain.
Possible severe signs
Some severe forms can progress to coughing, shortness of breath, respiratory distress, low blood pressure, kidney involvement or rapid clinical deterioration. These situations require urgent medical assessment.
Incubation period
The time between exposure and symptoms can vary. Public health sources describe a range that may extend from about one week to several weeks depending on the virus and context.
Important distinction
A symptom list is not a diagnostic tool. Only qualified healthcare professionals can assess a patient, request testing and interpret results.
